Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, take pleasure in Him];
again I will say, rejoice!
Let your gentle spirit [your graciousness, unselfishness, mercy, tolerance, and patience]
be known to all people.
The Lord is near.
Do not be anxious or
worried about anything,
but in everything [every circumstance and
situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make
your [specific] requests known to God.
And
the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace]
which transcends all understanding,
[that peace which] stands guard over
your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours].
/Phillipians 4:4-7 AMP/
Today's the third Sunday od Advent called the Sunday of Joy, so to stay in the spirit I chose a song sung by Jimmy Needham which is a great jazzy version of a traditional hymn Joyful, Joyful .
Joyful, joyful, we adore Thee
God of glory, Lord of love
Our hearts unfold like flowers before Thee
Opening to the sun above
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness
drive the dark of doubt away
Giver of immortal gladness
fill us with the light of day!
All Thy works with joy surround Thee
earth and heaven reflect Thy rays
Stars and angels sing around Thee
center of unbroken praise
Field and forest, vale and mountain
flowery meadow, flashing sea
Singing bird and flowing fountain
call us to rejoice in Thee
God of glory, Lord of love
Our hearts unfold like flowers before Thee
Opening to the sun above
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness
drive the dark of doubt away
Giver of immortal gladness
fill us with the light of day!
All Thy works with joy surround Thee
earth and heaven reflect Thy rays
Stars and angels sing around Thee
center of unbroken praise
Field and forest, vale and mountain
flowery meadow, flashing sea
Singing bird and flowing fountain
call us to rejoice in Thee
You make me joyful
You make me joyful
Our hearts are so full, so full
Mortals, join the happy chorus
which the morning stars began
Father love is reigning o’er us
brother love binds man to man.
Ever singing, march we onward
victors in the midst of strife
Joyful music leads us Sunward
in the triumph song of life
